Historical Background
The St. John's Anglican School is 100 years old. The original name of the school was St. John's E.C.I. School - Anglican School for East Indian Children. The school's population declined from approximately one thousand pupils to the present number of one hundred and forty pupils. The catchment area of the schoolincludes Lengua, Diamond Village and Pleasantville to St. Johnm's along Cipero Road thence to St. Charles, Ste. Madeleine and Petit Morne
Mr. Noor Hassanali, Dr. Ahalia Harbajan and Louis Jordan are just some noteworthy people who are past pupils of this institution. Other past pupils also became members of staff; they are Mr. Rawle Mahabir, Mr. Noel Kimloaz, Mr. Andrew Sieu Jaipaul and Marsley Thomas.
The present building of St. John's Anglican School was constructed in the year 1945 with refurbishment in 1987 - 1988 and every year since. The school has been blessed with many great principals over the years, Mr. Sackaldip Singh, Mr. Carlton Aimey, Mr. Samuel, Mr. Dhanraj Ramkissoon, Mr. Irving Wilson, Mrs. Theresa Sealey, Mrs. Alma Wilkes, Mrs. Sybil London, Mrs. Margaret Barker-Caesar and Mrs. Stephanie Leach. The present principal is Mrs. Juline John-George.
